Rechargeable batteries and batteries that have reached the end of their service life must never be disposed of with household waste. This is also indicated by the symbol of the crossed-out trash can on the batteries or on the packaging.
Used batteries can be returned free of charge to retailers, for example. The collection boxes for the return of spent portable batteries can be found, for example, in any supermarket, discount store, drugstore or hardware store where you can buy new portable batteries. In some cases, local authorities also accept used batteries via hazardous waste collection vehicles or at recycling centers.
