Plugging socket strips "one behind the other" should be avoided at all costs. This quickly leads to additional contact resistances, whereby the short-circuit protection provided by the circuit breakers is severely impaired or lost.
The combination of extension cable and socket strip is possible in principle, but care must be taken not to overload the cable.
Socket outlet adapters should always be connected to the wall socket.
Adapters equipped with measuring devices retain their function even when used with extension leads and multiple socket outlets.
Travel adapters, on the other hand, must not be used with extension leads or multiple socket outlets, as these can otherwise be overloaded.
Care should always be taken not to overload the cables! There is a risk of fire!
Wall sockets in Germany supply a voltage of 230 volts and are fused with 16 amps. This results in a maximum load of 3680 watts. This value should never be exceeded by connected devices. However, not all multiple socket outlets, adapters or extension cables can handle such high loads. Always check the product label. This shows the maximum load capacity.
