The brennenstuhl® garden socket with earth spike (Art.-No. 1154430) is already supplied with a permanently attached 1.4 m H07RN-F 3G1.5 cable. This cable is suitable for flexible outdoor use and is part of the tested construction.
A direct replacement with a permanently installed underground cable (e.g., NYY-J) is not intended.
Why should the cable not simply be replaced?
The garden socket is constructed as a tested complete product. Independent cable replacement can affect the following points:
- electrical safety
- protection class IP44
- tightness of the cable entry
- strain relief
- VDE/CE conformity
Additionally, underground cables are designed for permanent installation in the ground and are not intended for flexible connections.
How can the garden socket still be operated with an underground cable?
In practice, the following setup is often used:
- An underground cable is professionally laid in the ground.
- The underground cable ends in a suitable weatherproof junction box.
- The garden socket is then connected via its existing connection cable.
This way, the product remains unchanged and can continue to be used safely.
Important
Work on electrical systems outdoors should only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Warranty and safety approvals may be voided if the original product is modified.
