For many brennenstuhl® LED floodlights with motion detector, the sensitivity of the PIR sensor can be individually adjusted. The exact setting depends on the specific model.
Adjust sensitivity using the SENS control
If your wall floodlight has a control labeled SENS, you can use it to change the sensitivity or detection range of the motion detector.
- Turn the SENS control toward the “+” to increase sensitivity.
- Turn the control away from the “+” area to reduce sensitivity.
On the brennenstuhl® JARO LED floodlights with PIR motion detector, the SENS control is located on the back of the motion detector together with the controls for TIME and LUX. The highest sensitivity is achieved when the SENS control is turned fully toward the “+.”
Test the setting afterward by moving across the detection area at the desired distance. PIR motion detectors generally respond better to lateral movements than to movements directly toward the sensor.
What do SENS, TIME, and LUX mean?
SENS adjusts the sensitivity of the motion detector. TIME determines how long the floodlight stays on after detecting movement. LUX sets the ambient light level at which the motion detector should become active.
Sensitivity on brennenstuhl®Connect LED floodlights
For brennenstuhl®Connect floodlights with motion detector, the adjustment is made via the brennenstuhl®Connect app. If the motion detector triggers too frequently or unintentionally, brennenstuhl® recommends setting the sensitivity to “Near” in the app.
The motion detector is still too sensitive
Also check whether possible triggers such as trees, bushes, animals, windows, doors, or heat pumps are located within the detection area. Air currents or temperature differences can also affect a PIR motion detector. If necessary, aim the sensor away from such areas.
